Configuring the Campaign Manager For The First Time

Required Settings

When running the iVortex Mailer for the first time, the configuration wizard will launch the Options Panel. These settings are use for customizing and must be configured for the application to work properly. You can launch the Option Panel at any time to make changes.

 

SMTP Mail Servers Tab

SMTP servers must be added in order to send emails, you can had as many smtp servers as required. SMTP server is the mail server that your email provider assigned to your email address. If you do not know the name or IP address then contact your email provider.

The SMTP Servers Fields

Field Name Description
Sender Email This email address appears in the email as the sender.
Sender Name This name appears in the email as the sender's name.
Login ID This is use by the mail sender to login to the mail server.
Password This is use by the mail sender to authenticate the connection the mail server
SMTP Address This is the host name or IP address of the mail server
Port The port number use to connect to the mail server

How To Add SMTP Servers

  1. Click the Settings icon on the toolbar or press F4 key to open the Options Panel
  2. Select the SMPT Servers tab on the Options Panel
  3. Type in the information required, see SMTP Servers Fields above
  4. After adding your servers, click Apply button or press Alt+A key to accept.
  5. Click OK or press Alt+O key to close Options Panel 

Email Host Tab

The Email Host settings are for image hosting, view email as web page, campaign events status and unsubsubscribe.

Email Host Fields

Field Name Description
Email Host Url This url is use for hosting emails, unsubsubcribers links, view email as webpage. This field requires a valid domain name, example http://hostname.com.
Upload Emails This is a True or False, on wether the mail sender should upload the email file to the the email host site.
Image Host Url This is the url where the images are located, this url must be reachable over the internet for the images to show on the email page.
FTP Site Url This is the FTP address for the image host. the Mail Builder uses this url to upload image files using the Image Host Panel
Login ID The login ID for the ftp site
Password The password use to connect to the ftp site


How To Configure Email Host

  1. Open the Campaign Manager
  2. Click the Settings icon on the toolbar or press F4 key to open the Options Panel
  3. Select the Email Host tab on the Options Panel
  4. Type in the information for hosting emails
    • See Email host fields above
  5. After adding information required, click Apply button or press Alt+A key
  6. Click OK or press Alt+O key to close Options Panel 

Custom Fields Tab

The Custom Field is use for implementing your contact in the email, such as your name, address, company name, email, website,phone number and address.

When opening a template these field will replace with the values in the custom fields.


How To Configure Custom Field

  1. Open the Campaign Manager
  2. Click the Settings icon on the toolbar or press F4 key to open the Options Panel
  3. Select the Custom Fields tab on the Options Panel
  4. Type in the information for each fields
  5. When finish, click Apply button or press "Alt-A"
  6. Click OK or press "Alt-O" to close Options Panel
